ETNNA Webinar: The Intersection of Carbon, RECs and Tracking

Thank you for your interest in the Environmental Tracking Network of North America
(ETNNA).

Join us for a webinar on the upcoming whitepaper

The Intersection between RECs, Carbon and Tracking: Accurate Accounting and Tracking of the Carbon Attributes of Renewable Energy

Both carbon offsets and renewable energy certificates (RECs) are used as ways to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.  As these marketplaces grow, it is important to examine how they overlap and avoid any double counting of carbon benefits or claims. We will be discussing an upcoming whitepaper about the interactions of RECs and carbon offsets in North American registries and tracking systems, and best practices to avoid double counting.  The paper will examine electricity certificate tracking systems, GHG project registries and GHG inventory systems.

The Environmental Tracking Network (ETNNA) is a voluntary association of certificate tracking systems, registries, regulators and interested market participants that are vested in preventing double-counting and promoting harmonization among certificate tracking systems and emissions registries in North America. Such harmonization will encourage trade, create a common currency for certificates, prevent double counting, and support new and emerging markets.
